I’m not a Ninja…

I’m 6ft tall with size 9 feet so I will definitely not be invisible on your wedding day, but what I will be is discreet, respectful and professional.  I know when to be amongst the action and when to be waiting on landings outside bedroom doors(not in a creepy way).  I know how weddings work and I continue to learn about people.  I can take shots over your shoulder and you won’t be aware that I’m there, I can also gather a group of family together and keep them entertained.  I will be watching and shooting images all day at …

Sam & Dan // Hunley Hall //

How long have you known each other? We’ve known each other 4 years. How did you meet? We met on a night out in Middlesbrough. Can you share your proposal story? Dan proposed on Christmas Eve first thing on the morning, it was the sweetest thing. He wanted to propose Christmas Day but I was working. Which venues did you view before you settled on Your venue? We viewed Treebridge and then Hunley Hall. We fell in love straight away, especially with the views! Although that didn’t turn out to well due to the misty day. What was the best …

Ben’s Autumn Portrait Session

So Ben turned up to my studio this morning at 9.55am prompt with his mum and on seeing me did an about turn and decided he’d like to leave(I didn’t take this personal).  I opened the doors and mum took Ben through to the sitting room area.  Within no time at all Ben was happy playing with the various jigsaws and stacking cups.  The whole session was styled for an Autumn outdoor location shoot, but mother nature decided she’d give us a 20 minute downpour.  I used this time to take a couple of shots in the studio, this gave …

Lartington Hall Wedding Photography/Kate & Lee/Wedding Photographer at Lartington Hall

How long have you known each other? We met 4th July and married 4th June, 4 years later How did you meet? Grab a granny’ night in the Black Bull, Yarm Would you share your proposal story? Our first holiday was to Lee’s apartment in Spain, we hadn’t been back until we returned to celebrate our 3 year anniversary, Lee was acting strangely giggling one night whilst getting ready (I just thought he was being weird) we always joked throughout our relationship saying ‘have you got a ring in your pocket?’ We were having a laugh and then he got …

A new wedding blog chapter begins…

I’m first and foremost a photographer, but like most self employed ladies and gents I have to spin many plates to keep the wheels turning.  Which is why I will be working a little harder(if that’s even possible) to woo you with a selection of tasty wedding images and some blurb about each featured wedding.  I’ve googled the rules and apparently I have to drop some relevant place names in a few times for this blog to give me some google brownie points, so please bear with me as I get to grips with this. The initial wedding I have …

Goodbye Summer. Hello Autumn…

Autumn, a season of falling leaves and shorter days… A lifestyle shoot on location at this time of year calls for a great location and the correct light.  When I’m shooting outdoors at this time of year I’ll use everything I can to get the best light and saturated colours from the season.  A reflector or a burst of soft flash combined with a  flame red backdrop or a coppertoned leafy panoramic vista will compliment a location portrait session.  Every year I scout out new local locations that work during the Autumn months, I have also built up some old favourites over the …

The Big Birthday Surprise…

So when your wife announces 3 months before her big birthday that the only present she’d like would be an up to date portrait of her 2 daughters and 2 nieces, as the last one taken was 7 years ago… The girls all agree(1st hurdle), we sort a date(2nd hurdle), the date and time changes a number of times(these girls are busy young ladies).  Fast forward to shoot day(time of shoot changes a further 3 times). The girls have discussed the look and clothing that they like and with permission sorted we head over to Crathorne Hall, I’ve got a …
