Le Petit Chateau

Le Petit Chateau or LPC as the movers and shakers call it, is located in Otterburn, Northumberland in the North East of England. It’s a luxury French country manor hotel and it’s a fabulous example of shabby chic, put together in an effortless stylish way. I have a number of weddings to photograph at Le Petit Chateau over the next couple of years, so in an act selfless dedication to my art (and a lovely Christmas gift for Lynn and myself from our children and partners) we booked to stay over and sample their hospitality. So now I’ve set the …

Santa paid a surprise visit to Crathorne Hall to entertain all the children at Lucy and Graham’s Christmas Eve Eve (23.12.17) wedding.  I managed to have a quiet word with him and I’m not on the naughty list. Celebrate the wonder and joy of the season. Merry Christmas from Lynn & Gary x

Let’s Dance…

you’ve got to dance like nobody is watching, love like you’ll never be hurt, sing like there’s nobody listening and live like it’s heaven on earth… – William W Purkey   The first dance for a bride and groom, (as the guests of honour) is to open the evening’s dancing.  The style of dance is the personal choice of the happy couple, from the Teesside two step (rocking but not rolling), to a choreographed jig of twists and lifts.  A little tip I will share with you, if the idea of dancing with your partner while all your friends and family look at you …

Look At The Stars…

Michael & Julie asked me to shoot their wedding using a storytelling style of photography, covering all the key moments, a small selection of family groupings and then they gave me carte blanche (I was allowed to play) to capture a handful of showstoppers of the two of them. It was my first visit to The Stables at Cross Butts Whitby, so I made sure I arrived early to have a mooch about and identify potential key bride and groom image locations, but first coffee (I was offered, so I accepted). Courteous treatment will make a customer a walking advertisement …

North East Wedding Photographer

It’s that time of year again when the boys have to dig deep into their vault of excuses to why they can’t accompany their fiancee, mother in law to be and own mother, to the weekend wander around the many wedding fayres over the next couple of months.  I will meet and chat to many interesting interested brides to be and even a handful of grooms to be at these events.  If you’d like to cut to the chase, get in touch with me with your date and details and I will post you a copy of my brand new …

Too long! Joking … Three and a half years! How did you meet? Bit embarrassing, the mothers work together and set us up like Cilla on Blind Date. Can you share your proposal story? Crab & Lobster Wedding Photography/Lacey & Stuart/Wedding Photographer at Crab & Lobster

mariage pluvieux, mariage heureux (rainy wedding, happy marriage).  My iphone is very clever at forecasting the weather, but on a wedding day I don’t check it (QUE SERA SERA)… Many couples worry about drizzle ruining their whole day.  You are marrying the love of your life and in 5,10 and 25 years from now your wedding day experience will be as unique as your marriage. Fantastic photo opportunities arise during the rain, from candid running umbrella shots to new reflections created by the puddles on the ground.  The colour of your flowers will punch out against the overcast sky and …

Headlam Hall Wedding Photography/Clare & Gareth/Wedding Photographer at Headlam Hall

ALL THE GEAR & LOADS OF IDEAS The days of turning up to photograph a wedding with 1 camera, a tripod and 5 rolls of film are long behind me. Now I carry back up cameras, an array of lenses, plenty of memory cards, on camera flash and battery studio/location off camera flash, reflectors, LED wands, a box of coloured gels (to change the colour of the flash light) and lots of other bits and bobs that will help push my images on. Sometimes while photographing a wedding I’ll get lucky with minimal equipment. The image I have featured in …

Middleton Lodge Wedding Photography Sally and I are ships in the night at weddings.  As I arrive, Sally tends to be about to leave.  It’s nothing that I’ve said, Sally is MUA and owner at La Belle Vous.  It was lovely to spend time with her and her Husband Charlie at their wedding.  Between us we’ve attended lots of weddings over the years, but this one was different, this one was personal.  Congratulations Sally & Charlie 23.06.17 x
