Goodbye Summer. Hello Autumn…my favourite season

Autumn, a season of falling leaves and shorter days…

A lifestyle shoot on location at this time of year calls for a great location and the correct light.  When I’m shooting outdoors at this time of year I’ll use everything I can to get the best light and saturated colours from the season.  A reflector or a burst of soft flash combined with a  flame red backdrop or a coppertoned leafy panoramic vista will compliment a location portrait session.  Every year I scout out new local locations that work during the Autumn months, I have also built up some old favourites over the years and these will subtly change year on year.

I have a handful of props that I bring along to help with the natural finished look of a portrait and sometimes I will just use the environment and props provided by mother nature.  Choice of clothing will play a huge part in the styling of a session.  Scarves, hats and woolly jumpers.  Duffle coats, cardigans and wellington boots. I can help and advise, but I find mum’s know best.

Autumn half term is the last school holiday before Christmas and a great opportunity to book a daytime children’s session, we also have some limited weekend options that are going fast…
