Choosing a newborn photography session at home removes so much pressure. I know how hard it can be to leave the house with a newborn, especially in those early weeks. You might be up at 6am, and still not out the door by mid-morning.
By having your newborn photos taken at home, everything stays calm and familiar. There’s no rushing, no worrying about feeding times, and no need to pack the car. Your baby is settled in their own space, which often leads to more relaxed and natural images.
Home newborn photography also means every session is completely unique. Your home, the light, the colours, and the little details all shape the final photographs. I work with natural light and portable flash to create soft, timeless images that reflect your family and your surroundings.
Your home as the backdrop, your baby as the focus
One of the biggest benefits of in-home newborn photography is the personal feel it brings to your images. Your home becomes part of the story, whether that’s the nursery you prepared, the sofa where you spend hours cuddling, or the bedroom window with beautiful natural light.
While your home features as the backdrop, the main focus is always your baby. Tiny hands, delicate features, sleepy stretches, and those fleeting newborn expressions are what I aim to capture. I also include parents naturally throughout the session. A baby cradled in mum’s arms or resting on dad’s shoulder creates some of the most emotional and meaningful newborn photographs.

I always allow plenty of time during newborn photography sessions for feeding, changing, and settling. Once your baby is ready, I work gently and efficiently to capture natural expressions without overwhelming them. My photography style is very natural, and the goal is always to keep the experience calm and enjoyable.
When you book your newborn photography session, we’ll choose a time that suits your baby’s routine. If your baby isn’t feeling their best on the day, we simply reschedule. There’s no stress and no pressure.
Studio newborn photography or at home sessions
Newborn photography sessions can take place either at my Norton High Street studio or in your home. At the studio, I use professional flash and hand-painted backdrops for a classic and timeless look. At home, I work with your space and light to create personal, story-driven newborn photographs.
Both options are designed to be relaxed and baby led. The lack of sleep will absolutely be worth it when you have professional newborn images that take you straight back to those early days.
Newborn photography pricing and what’s included
The newborn photography session fee is £65. This includes a one-hour photo shoot, professional image editing, and a viewing consultation at the studio. Your newborn gallery will be ready approximately one week after your session.
There is no sales pressure at any point. Prints start from £25, desktop framed prints from £65, and wall portraits from £180. My aim is for the entire newborn photography experience to feel comfortable, personal, and enjoyable.
