Ruby our bloody gorgeous Shih Tzu was more than a dog; she was my third and possibly my most favourite child. She came to work with me 4 days a week (Fridays and weekends were a big fat no for Ruby) and everyone who visited the studio loved her and she loved them, except the window cleaner and one particular postie. I soon learnt from photographing Ruby that dogs are very similar to working with toddlers, a five second attention span and treats only appeal for a short while, so I have to work quickly, but only when they are comfortable and ready. Which is why the framed portrait of her has pride and place in our living room.

If you opt for a studio session, why not bring your pet to see me and have of good sniff around a couple of days before it’s lights, camera, action. Our time in the studio is always dictated by the models, once they’ve had enough, then it’s session over. This creates a more relaxed and enjoyable photoshoot atmosphere. Outdoor sessions can be taken at a favourite local walking location, somewhere that will bring back memories of long carefree walks or we can find a backdrop for a more stylised look to your final images. The safety of your pet is paramount, which is why we’ll run through location ideas before I book you in.
